A Redditor shared a story on Reddit’s “AITA” subreddit. The man stated that he embarrassed his mother, after what she did about his son, and later shared a post about her grandson from her Facebook page.
The Redditor shared his story, as he explained that he had a thing with the daughter of their cleaning lady, and when they were 20, while OP was on his college break, their intimacy resulted with the pregnancy of the daughter of their cleaning lady.
The girl did’t talked with anyone about her pregnancy, as she was afraid that OP would reject and she would end up in a more bad situation.
“She didn’t want to tell anyone who it was because she was scared for her mom’s job and me possibly rejecting our baby. After I finished college I tried to reach out to her again and that’s when I found out. My son was 3 at that time. We did a paternity test to find out I was the father. My parents showed their true colors after I told them. Should add my son’s mom side is Cuban so he half Cuban.” The Redditor shared.
The family had rejected OP’s son from their family, as they showed their racist side, which OP had no idea that they had. “They accused my son’s mom of being a gold digger tampering with paternity results to try to trap me into taking care of her kid. Like if a court DNA test was going to lie. Unfortunately they did fire her mom but she managed to find work. For all these reasons I stopped having contact with my parents.”
OP stopped talking with his family for three years, as the Redditor was living with his son’s mother for a while now. Few months ago, OP posted his story, his grandmother had visited them as he was surprised, and informed that she changed her will so her great-grandson would have something from her inheritance.
As the grandmother was mad when she heard the whole story, OP wrote, “No coincidence that once this happened my parents were suddenly wanting to come around wanting to reconcile. I Have a feeling she probably took them out of her will or something. Most of their wealth came form her. Because I’m rejecting them from being in our lives my mom decided to post a picture of my son on Facebook page recently on his 6th birthday. Saw it cause my sister sent it to me.”
As OP saw the post about her son made by his mother, about how she was cut from her grandson’s life, and she is wishing him a happy birthday. The Redditor then commented as, “Remember you said you didn’t want a brown baby in the family.”
After that the post received the reactions the Redditor would liked, and his mother had deleted the post. He started to receive messages from the rest of the family as if he was the villain of the story, and OP wanted some thoughts about the sitution from other Redditors.
