A woman shared her story on Reddit. The young woman stated that she lost her grandmother when she was 16, who was a hardworking woman, and had money. After her passing, there was a battle for the wealth she left behind.
OP’s mother was the middle child, and she wouldn’t feel enough with a small amount from the inheritance.
As her grandmother was a practical woman, she divided her wealth by her own thoughts, and took no opinion of others.
After her passing, and her will’s read, OP’s mother received the heirloom jewelry, and OP’s brıther received the delivery van from grandmother’s business.
Then OP received $30,000 as an education trust, which her mother was livid about. She stated that OP received more money than everyone else, and they said that it was unfair.
Two years later, when OP was on her second semester of her freshman year, she was receiving several scholarshpis, as she was keeping the money she received from her grandmother sefely for her future.
When she was 18, she talked with her mother and wanted to control her money, but her mother shocked her with her confession. “I was totally stunned and couldn’t believe she’d just admit to it.” OP said.
Her mother said that she took all the money, and OP received nothing from it. Her mother was a math professon, and she was making her take tuition’s a lot. While OP was in high school, she leaped to the college, and as she was the daughter of a faculty member, they were payin $25 for a credit hour.
The money was coming from OP’s education fund, and when OP was in the college, the money was long gone.
When OP wanted her money back from her mother, the mother said that she used the money for the dream house she built.
Then OP moved out, and cut her ties with her mother. She got a job, and moved into her own apartment, and she never looked back.
Five years later, as OP’s mother never paid her taxes for her dream house she built, she experienced a downfall. After a legal battle, she was forced to sell her $700,000 worth of house for $220,000.
She was also in a debt of $250,000. After she sold the house, she was left with $30,000 debt, and she declared bankruptcy. She moved to a humble apartment. And now she was a retired woman with no savings.
