As Kiersten was a student from New Jersey, was in need of a job, as she was struggling with money issues while studying. Then she found the Rosko family through one of her friends. And they agreed on hiring her.
As she started to work as a nanny for the family, she had bonded with one of their three kids, Talia, who was they youngets member of the family.
Sadly, later it was revealed that nine-month-old Talia was diagnosed with a life threatening liver disease. After her doctors stated that Talia needs a liver, Kiersten immediately offered her own liver.
As the parents, George and Farra were not sure about Kiersten’s offer, they had talked with Kiersten and explained that there might be complications of her donation, which might affect her life.
But Kiersten was already made her mind about her choice and was ready for the test, if her tissue was typing with Talia’s.
After the tests, the doctors stated that it was a perfect match for Talia. On the 11th of January, 2017, Talia and Kiersten underwent a surgery that lasted for 14 hours.
First procedure was done on Kiersten, the doctors took a part from her liver, and then transplanted the liver part in Talia.
Kiersten stayed in the hospital for five days, and Talia stayed in for nine days, but Kiersten was with little Talia for the whole time they stayed in the hospital.
And today Talia is a healthy little lady, thanks to her incredibly kind nanny, Kiersten.
