Back in 2017, a woman who is 25 now had shared a story online about her prom dress, and how her parents gave her prom dress to her sister. The woman had shared that she worked hard and save $300 for her dream dress, which felt like she spent millions for it.
Her prom went great, as she had a great time with her date, and friends. The OP was aware that the dress was not related to her happiness, but she stated that she was bonded with it. OP explaiend that she woul still wear the dress.
Recently, her 18-year-old sister Annie asked from OP to wear her dress for her own prom. As the dress meant so much for OP, she refused but offered to help her sister to look for a dress for her prom night.
After the weekend, OP returned to her dorm from her house, two weeks later OP returned for her nephew’s baptism. She saw that her mother and grandmother were putting Annie in her prom dress. They were planning to cut OP’s dress to make it fit for Annie.
As OP went mand, she screamed and demanded from Annie to take it off. “Are you crazy, Annie?! What was the point of asking me whether you could wear my dress if you were just going to do what you wanted in any case? You didn’t even think about me, you just stole my stuff to outshine your friends.”
“My love, it’s only a dress. Let your sister enjoy her evening like you once did. You’ve had the dress for years. I think it’s only fair to pass it on,” her grandmother said.
“I’m not giving it up, Gran! Take it off NOW, Annie!”
As soon as Annie changed the dress, OP took it, and take it into her bag. And said to her family that she will be spending the weekend at another family member’s house. As she was going away from her house, she started to thought that she made a wrong move, as she now understood that her sister just wanted to look pretty, as OP did in her prom.
OP went back on the next day, and talked with Annie.
“I’m sorry, An. I didn’t mean to snap at you like that. You know I can get a bit frustrated, and I just lost it when I saw you had taken my dress.”
“That’s the thing, Lora, I didn’t. Thought you told Mom I could have it.”
As OP took Annie for prom dress shopping, the fight for the prom dress was over. As the family had questions and thoughts about the situation, the love between the sisters prevailed.
HERE’S ANOTHER STORY ABOUT A PROM DRESS, AND THE EFFORTS OF A GRANDMOTHER
After her cousin Mira let Aunt Clara’s dog into the room, Julie’s prom dress was destroyed. After her parent’s passing, Julie was living in her Aunt’s house. She worked hard and saved money for her dress, but now out of jealousy, Mira had destroyed Julie’s dress with the help of her dog.
Until the grandmother stepped in, Julie was devastated, as she had no other money to buy a new dress for herself. The grandmother had brought her sewing machine, and started to work on a new dress for Julie, despite her challenge with Parkinson’s disease.
As the prom night approached, Mira and Aunt Clara were mocking Julie, about her destroyed dress. But there was a force they didn’t added into account, the love of the grandmother.
As the prom night started Mira was happy that Julie was not there, but Julie attended a little later than Mira, with her incredible prom dress, made by their grandmother. Until the end of the night, Mira was maddened with her jealousy.
