Famous actress Christina Applegate, who got fame with her roles in “Married with Children,” “Samantha Who?” and “Dead to Me,” is living in her 4,740-square-feet Hollywood Hills home for more than 25 years. As she loved her home, her kitchen was not for her liking.
Applegate was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, and underwent a double mastectomy for her treatment, and in 2021, she was diagnosed with MS.
In the August of 2021, Applegate had announced her diagnosis from her Twitter account as, “Hi friends. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey.”
“As one of my friends that has MS said, ‘We wake up and take the indicated action.’ And that’s what I do.”
After she was diagnosed, she had worked on the Netflix series, “Dead to Me.” After the series was over, she had appeared on the “Kelly Clarkson Show,” in 2022, and talked about her condition with MS. Applegate explained that she had struggled while the shooting was continuing, and the cast and the set crew made her comfortable.
She even joked about herself, as she changed the lyrics of “Santa Baby” song. “Disaby baby, hurry down the chimney tonight… I can’t, ’cause my wheelchair won’t fit down it.”
Applegate had stated, “humor shield keeps me OK, but of course, down on the inside, you feel things.”
Since 1995, Applegate is living in her home, which she bought the house for $950,000. The house has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two-car garage, and a swimming pool.

As Applegate loves her home, she doesn’t like her kitchen. “The ugliest kitchen of anyone I know.”
Applegate had always wanted to renovate her kitchen, but she didn’t wanted to be bothered with it, as it would take a lot time and effort.
Later she had enlisted Jessica Today from Laurel & Wolf for an online interior design for her kitchen, she wanted to change her “godawful” kitchen.
Applegate stated that the change in her kitchen had improved her life quality, and the experiencing her house. She now has a bright, open space in her kitchen, with her white marble countertops, and a large island.
The cabinets has paneled wood shelves, to use as a showcase for the wine glasses, and with the lightning of the kitchen, it looks like a bright and a warm place with the minimalistic themes.
Later she renovated the dining room too, as she now has a cozy space, where she changed her old table and chairs.
Applegate’s house is now worth $1.5 million, and it is the space where Applegate had created to celebrate and for comfort, as she is unable to have since she was diagnosed with her MS. As the renovation was also an investment, it had raised her quality of life.
“It’s so much nicer, so much more comfortable. It’s a place now where we can celebrate as opposed to a place that we want to get out of as fast as possible — which is what it was like for me for the last 20 years of living in this house.” Applegate said.

“Before you would come into the foyer, and it was just shoes everywhere. It was awful. Now, people can go into the mudroom, sit on a beautiful bench, and put their shoes on.”
