Barstow Fire Protection District stated on 15th of December from their social media account about the passing of two sisters, who were 2 and 7.
At 6:48 p.m., the authorities were alerted about a house on fire, where two children were inside the burning house. The firefighters rushed towards the parents, Charmon and Akeem Isom’s house.
The parents had tried their best to save their children, 7-year-old Annie and 2-year-old Aalijah, when their Christmas tree caused the fire, where the smoke detectors didn’t alerted.
As the firefighters managed to get inside after two failed attempts, they couldn’t find the children inside. After the children were found, the Barstow Police officers received them from the windows.
Aalijah passed away from her injuries due to the house fire. Annie was rushed to the Orange County’s UC Irvine burn facility. Unfortunately, she passed away a week after she was under life support. The parents decided to pull the plug.
Then they had donated Annie’s organs as they thought that they could save the lives of others.
On the 23rd of December the people of Barstow held a gathering for the girls who lost their lives. As the grieving parents talked in the event, Akeem said, “There’s no amount of money, there’s no amount of valuables that can bring back my children.”
Akeem also stated that there is nothing in the world that would bring back the great memories he had with his daughters. The family is now raising money for the funeral expenses of their daughters.
Charmon created a GoFundMe page for their cause, and raised $21,875 on the 28th of December.
The mother described her youngest daughter as a tender, joyful and beautiful gir. For her other daughter, Annie, she stated that her daughter was a vinramtanda vivacious spirit.
