Tyne Daly and Georg Stanford Brown was one of the famous couples in their youth, as they were having an illegal relationship. During their young ages, it was illegal to be in an interracial relationship.
When the couple were married, it was illegal in 17 states to be in an interracial relationship. As they were in love, they had overcome many obstacles which was staying on their way.
As many people had questioned their union, Tyne was afraid for her mixed raced children, “fated for tragic lives.”
Daly had stated for their time as she was sure that Brown was the father of her children. For 24 years, they stayed together and created a lovely family.
Sadly, after the differences between the couple had increased, they decided to separate their ways in 1990.
From Brown, Daly had three daughters. She was a dotting mother, and a dotting grandmother to her grandchildren, which she has four. When she talked wtih Playbill, she described her role as a grandmother, “beautiful and noble job.”
Posy Pie, one of her grandchildren, had celebrated her 11th birthday this year. Her mother, had shared Posy’s picture from social media and captioned as, “Anyone who is lucky enough to know Posy Pie will agree that this kid is a dynamic, beautiful light who spreads joy to all. She is strong, hilarious, cuddly, loyal, intelligent, intuitive, kind, dear, has very stinky feet, a beautiful singing voice and gives great shoulder massages.”
Daly also has a great friendship with her co-star from Cagney and Lacey, Sharon Gless. They have a great relationship since 80s, when they started working on the show. Daly had stated about their relationship, in 2011 interview, “Sweat makes good friendship cement.”
For six years, Daly and Gless had acted on the show, as Christine Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey. They had a great chemistry which had helped with the success of the show.
77-year-old Daly is still continuing to her acting. She recently appeared on Broadway, as she is starring in “Doubt: A Parable.”
