Since 2018, the reporst about exploding ovens in Facebook, and other media sources are rising, and there are some solutions for the situation to prevent it from happening in your household.
There are many posts in Facebook, if you search for “exploding oven,” you might easily spot one. In the posts the owners are talking about the tiny glass shards from the oven’s glass door scattered aroung and over the floor.
A person who lived through the situation is Willie Mae Truesdale, as she was shocked with the exploding oven.
“We hear this loud explosion. Like, what is that?” Truesdale said, back in 2023.
She was in her couch, and a sudden and loud explosion came from her kitchen. As she rushed to her kitchen in fear, she saw the shattered glass panel of her oven.
“It was shocking and you had to really see it to believe it. It was like what in the world. Glass shattered, glass was out here on the floor.”
Truesdale stated that her oven wasn’t even turned on when it exploded.
As Truesdale, another woman, Tonya Lowery had experienced the situation too. She was making dinner in her oven, and suddenly, the glass panel got exploded. “Boom, and it just sounded like a gunshot,” Lowery said.
Here are four things to do, to avoid and prevent explosion on your oven’s glass panel or door.
Don’t close your oven’s door hard, and avoid contacting it with pans and pots. The smallest dents on the glass panel would eventually lead to an explosion.
The racks should be pushed to the point where they are not touching to the glass panel, because these racks would left a dent on the glass.
And lastly, don’t use the self cleaning feature on your oven if you have one. The heat using for the cleaning process on the oven, can cause the explosion of your glass panel on your oven.
