A woman from Reddit, had shared a terrible story from the birthday of her stepdaughter. Woman shared that she is married with her husband, Jeff, for a year. Her husband had a daughter from his late wife, who is twelve.
As OP shared, her husband was struggling with parenting as he was a single father, for the time they first met. And he would brought a cake for OP’s stepfather’s birthday, and OP thought that she could bake a cake for her stepdaughter.
OP shared, “I baked the cake in the flavor she likes and the icing she likes but one thing was missing and that is the blueberries and I couldn’t include them because I went to the nearest store and they didn’t have them. I was running out of time and couldn’t get them so I ended up just leaving the cake as it thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal.”
After the birthday party started, husband came into the kitchen and asked to see the cake, and he went mad when he saw that there were no blueberries. Then OP shared the rest as, “He went on and on about how I didn’t fully commit to making the cake and that he trusted me to take care of it and just basically saying that he should’ve just ordered one from the bakery. We got into an argument and he ended up taking it and throwing it in the trashcan.”
As OP was shocked, her husband continued with saying, “You know what? Forget it, I’ll get one from the bakery.” The OP yelled at him, and went upstairs, took some clothes and left. As her husband tried to stop her, she pushed him away and went to her parent’s house.
Then her husband texted him that she hurted him and her stepdaughter by leaving, and he blamed OP for the situation, for she didn’t made the cake right way. As OP shared that she doesn’t want to talk, but her husband was still trying to contact.
