Jane was 44, when she was planning her wedding. And when Jane revealed that she will be having a child-free wedding, her sister Emily, who had a four-year-old son, had some problems.
Jane was loving her nephew with all her heart, but she had seen many weddings ruined by children. And she didn’t wanted to live through same experience as many others had.
And Jack had a history with gatherings, as for his grandmother’s retirement party, he managed to tangle himself with the music system’s cables, and received a two hour silence in an empty room.
Emily called Jane and stated that she couldn’t find anyone to babysit Jack. Jane offered some assistance with that, and Emily said that she wouldn’t trust anyone else with her son. Then Jane said that Jack’s father, Emily’s ex should watch over Jack for the wedding.
“Listen,” Jane said. “I get where you’re coming from, I really do. But you know how important this day is to me. We’ve talked about it being child-free for so long.”
“But he’s just a kid, and you’re telling me you can’t make an exception for your own nephew? You won’t even notice he’s there,” Emily responded.
“I’ve seen what happens when kids get restless at weddings and events in general,” Jane continued.
“Remember the cake incident at Lisa’s wedding? I can’t have that happening,” Jane said.
The wedding area had a running water, rocks, it was a location filled with nature. Jane was also scared that Jack would wander off and hurt himself.
Emily then started to talk about their cousin, and why they were allowed in the wedding. “They are adults, legally, and can take care of themselves. It’s not the same, and you know it,” Jane said.
Few days later, Emily called Jane again with a hope that Jane would change her mind. “No children at my wedding, sis.” Jane said.
“Ok, I’ll find a daycare!” Emily said, and she thought she hung up. “I’ll take him anyway, she won’t kick me out with the child.” She said before the call was off.
“So what are we going to do?!” Her fiance asked as he heard the conversation too.
“We will teach her a lesson!” Jane said.
When the wedding day arrived, Emily and her son Jack was there, but she didn’t know that Jane and her fiance hired security at the gates.
They were instructed with not letting any children inside. Jane was shocked with the number of calls she had on her phone at one point, but she didn’t let herself down at her best day.
