As she has an illustrious career, she is not only busy with her career. She also likes to spend time In the farm of her family. She bought the farm of her grandparents back in 2017. She is living with peace in the farm.
Harvey Newton and Violet Margaret Sayre English, grandparents of Garner bought the property in 1936, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. The grandparents bought the land for $700. Jennifer’s mother, Patricia Garner talked with Southern Living and explained that her father bought the property in the Great Depression era, as he was a laborer.
As Harvey Newton English was a World War I veteran, he received a bonus, and bought the land with the bonus, as he was not working, since no one was hiring during the Great Depression.
When they bought the land, the grandparents of Garned didn’t even had a car, and they asked for someone to drive them there.
The grandparents saw that there was a farmhouse with two bedroom at the land. There were no running water, electricity, or plumbing. The electricity came in 1945.
The land was fertile and the grandfather had worked on the soil. They had planted radishes, leaf lettuces, new potatoes, English peas, Cucumbers, beets, onions, green peas, and tomatoes.
The main income source was pecan trees of the land, and also the trees were giving treats to the family. The family were also receiving meat from the chicken, cows, and pigs they were caring. As the property had sold several times, Jennifer’s mother, Patricia stated that for 40 years, the land was left untouched.
The grandfather, Harvey passed away in 1962, and the grandmother Violet Margaret sold the land to her son, James and his wife, Helen.
James cared for the land and fenced the property while building a barn. When it was 2008, James sold the land to his other brother, Robert. With his wife, Janet, they created a modern farmland, and in 2017, Jennifer Garner bought the land, as she agreed with her aunt and uncle, which they stayed on the land, caring for it.
The land provides natural nutrients to Garner’s children’s food brand, “Once Upon A Farm,” as her uncle Robert and his wife, Janet, are working on the land.
Garner had created the brand for making natural, organic vegetables and fruits to be used in baby foods. The local farmers are the suppliers of Garner’s brand, and on the website of the company, it is stated that the aim of the company was to give children fresh and nutrient baby food, as without worrying the parents about the ingredients.
Garner also shares some moments from the farm, when she visits her family. On the 9th of December, 2023, she had shared a video where she was feeding the cows. And on the 3rd of September, 2023, Garner had shared the moments she was harvesting blackberries.
“I feel like my sisters and I have been so shaped by our mom’s upbringing. This is just part of our childhood,” Jennifer had stated.
In her work with “Once Upon A Farm,” she wants to create a bond between kids and the farm. Before they started to work with the soil, Garner made sure that the soil was organic, since for more than 40 years, there were no plants planted on the land.
