A 32-year-old woman had shared a story from the past, from 2020 on the Reddit’s “AITA” subreddit. The woman had explained that her ex-husband of six years, Dan. The Redditor had explained that during the quarantine time of the pandemic, in 2020, her husband, Dan would leave the house occasionally, to his lover, Kate’s house.
She later learned the affair her 35-year-old husband was having. She also learned that her husband was having a child with his lover too.
“I was under high risk and their entire affair has cost me some of my physical health, not just mental one,” the OP had stated in her post, “After the divorce Dan moved out from my house and we haven’t spoken since.”
After OP left her husband, she hold no contact, and blocked his number. The week before she posted her story on Reddit, she found Dan at her doorstep, with his baby.
OP wrote, “He only mumbled that Kate was giving birth to their second child and needs him in the delivery room due to complications. He left before I could protest, and I have tried texting and calling him multiple times and have received no reply. I do not know why he thought it is a good idea as I had plans, and they definitely don’t involve someone else’s child.”
OP explained that she unblocked Dan’s number, and waited for his response. After Dan didn’t contacted to OP, she decided to talk with the authorities.
“I explained it is not my child and I haven’t agreed to look after him and his dad is not responding. They took the child…” OP shared.
When the next morning came, OP received calls from her ex, which he was furious about the issue. Dan was found in the delivery room, where he said he would be. Then the authorities took him to be with his firstborn.
“My ex called me an a******, he missed the birth of his second and Kate had some complications, so she is in intensive care. He also started shouting saying that his and Kate’s parents are living at the opposite ends of the country and have medical conditions which mean they can’t look after his son.” OP wrote in her post.
“I have told him that he should have used his brain cells and thought about it in advance instead of dumping the product of his affair at my house, knowing that me and him are not civil, but was called even bigger a******.”
As OP wanted advice from the people of Reddit, one user had shared, “[Dan and Kate] had a good eight months to figure this out. Don’t either of these mental giants have friends?” the Redditor asked, and added, “Their best option was to drop the boy off at a stranger’s home, expecting the stranger to just accept the situation?”
Another Redditor commented, “Do [Dan and Kate] have no friends at all who could do some semi-predictable emergency babysitting? Or did they exhaust everyone’s willingness with previous bull**** already? If he had no other choice, he could have paid for a sitter to avoid all this.”
Another one said, “You haven’t spoken to this man in three years, and he suddenly turns up expecting you to look after the child he had with his affair partner? This is absolutely bonkers.”
