Kelly Clarkson married with Brandon Blackstock in 2013, and the couple separated their ways in 2021. Clarkson finally found a solution for a case she was battling on against Blackstock.
While they were married, Blackstock was the manager of Clarkson for a few years, and during his time managing Clarkson he had took millions of Clarkson, through the high commission rate Blackstock used on Clarkson.
The overcharged commission of Blackstock was ruled by a California labor commissioner, and it was judged for Blackstock to pay Clarkson back the $2,641,347, whihc he took from her during his time as her manager.
As it is reported, Brandon Blackstock is preparing to appeal the decision. As the documents are suggesting, Blackstock had arranged the works illegally, and acter wrongfully in the contracts he prepared for his ex-wife, for example, the jobs of Clarkson as, “The Voice,” Norwegian Cruise Lines, Wayfair, and the Billboard Music Awards.
The labor commissioner explained that managers can’t sign the documents, or secure them. Only talent agents are able to secure and sign the documents of their clients.
Clarkson also wanted to receive the amount her ex-husband took when she signed for “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” but it was judged for money to stay with Blackstock.
They were together for seven years, until Clarkson had decided to separate, and took legal action in 2020. Then they fought for the custody of their children, 9-year-old daughter, River Rose, and 7-year-old son, Remington “Remy” Alexander.
Clarkson received the primary custody over their children, and she was able to keep the Montana ranch the couple had shared.
After Clarkson moved to New York, she had stated, “I think COVID pointed out a lot of things,” and continued, “A lot of us didn’t make it relationship-wise.”
“Do I have a boyfriend? No! And not looking. You know why? I love being single,” Clarkson had shared from her social media account, after her album, Chemistry.
“I have two kids, two dogs, three rabbits, a hamster, multiple jobs — there’s a lot going on,” Clarkson said, “hard to start over” she added, when “you think you’re going to spend the rest of your life with somebody, and you don’t.”
